MNSOTA
Middle Level Honors Orchestra
February 15 to 16, 2008
|
The Middle Level Honors Orchestra is for students in grades 7-9. It is an opportunity for the best string players from the state to join together for a rehearsal on February 16 at Northwestern College in Roseville. The Middle Level Honors Orchestra performs as part of the Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) Mid-Winter Clinic in February 2008. We are thrilled that our guest conductor will be Kristin Tjornehoj, Associate Professor at University of Wisconsin - River Falls where she conducts the UWRF Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the St. Croix Valley Orchestra. Dr Tjornehoj is in demand as a guest conductor, has been involved in the commissioning of numerous pieces for wind band and has presented sessions on conducting, repertoire, and motivation at numerous music conferences. Students must submit an application form and audition tape (details about tape including repertoire requirements are on the General Information sheet). Students must be in their school orchestra (if there is one), and their music teacher must be a member of MMEA and MNSOTA. The registration deadline is October 26, 2007.
